Our Story
Treats by Sylvia is an Irish-owned baking business based in Dublin, which specialises in cheesecakes. Sylvia Kennedy, the owner of Treats by Sylvia, always had a passion for baking and aspired to run her own business one day. That dream became a reality when COVID struck in 2021, and Sylvia left her long-term office job to pursue her ambition.
What began as a home baking business in a small purpose-built kitchen at the back of her home has transformed into a successful enterprise now operating in her own production kitchen in Dublin City Centre. She currently employs three staff members and has her first refrigerated van on the road.
With help from her Local Enterprise Office, Treats by Sylvia has gone from strength to strength. In 2024, the business was honoured with two Gold awards at the Irish Quality Food Awards and Blas na hÉireann, the largest blind-tasting food competition on the island of Ireland. Sylvia also won Bronze in the National Start Up Awards.
Treats by Sylvia’s cheesecakes are all handmade fresh using the highest quality Irish ingredients and are beautifully presented in sustainable packaging. Known for their unique domed-shaped pots, they are bursting with flavour, making them stand out from anything else you will taste on the market.
From the beginning, the feedback from customers has been exceptional. Treats by Sylvia is currently stocked in over 40 locations across Dublin. Most recently, Treats by Sylvia has teamed up with Sorrento Pizza Ireland as their dessert supplier for their new online shop. This partnership will give customers the opportunity to purchase Treats by Sylvia’s award-winning cheesecakes nationwide.
